Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa state has postponed the inauguration of the state’s 7th assembly over a security report.
The governor was supposed to proclaim the inauguration of the assembly but was advised to postpone the inauguration following security advice.
The inauguration of the seventh Assembly had earlier been scheduled for Tuesday by the state government.
DailyPost reported that Ibrahim Musa, the acting Clerk of the House disclosed the development in a statement in Lafia on Tuesday.
According to Musa, the postponement was based on security advice to Gov. Abdullahi Sule.
He called on the members-elect and the public to bear with the decision as a new date would be communicated to them in due course.
According to NAN, the governor’s All Progressives Congress (APC) won only 11 out of the 24 seats in the yet-to-be-inaugurated House of Assembly.
