Owena, Ondo
Festus Akingbaso, a member representing Idanre/Ifedore at the House of Representatives, has begun the reconstruction of the Lajibiti damaged bridge in the Owena area of Idanre local government, Ondo state.
DailyAgent gathered that the bridge was damaged by gully erosion witnessed in the area, preventing the people of the area who are mostly cocoa farmers and timber merchants from transporting their goods to Owena and Akure, the ondo state capital.
Findings by DailyAgent revealed that this year’s heavy rain has affected many communities in Idanre local government especially, the Owena axis.
The completion of this reconstruction of the bridge is expected to provide much-needed relief to cocoa farmers and timber merchants who transport their goods from Ofosu.
Weeks ago, the Owena axis of the Ondo/Akure expressway was completely impassable following the impact of erosion which led to damage to the road leaving many travellers stranded.
The major road linking the central to the southern senatorial districts is also currently being attended to by the Ondo state government.
