Justice Olusegun Odusola, the chief judge of Ondo State will today by 4.00 pm swear in the acting governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the state governor following the death of the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu on Wednesday.
DAILYAGENT gathered that Aiyedatiwa, who was in his hometown for the Christmas break when the news of the governor’s death broke has left for Akure, the state capital, for the swearing-in.
Arrangements are currently being made for the swearing-in ceremony.
Odusola, the 12th chief judge of the State is expected to preside over the events.
Aiyedatiwa was the State’s deputy governor until Wednesday, December 13 when power was formally transferred to him after Akeredolu went on another medical vacation.
DAILYAGENT earlier reported that Akeredolu died on Wednesday morning at the age of 67.
The new governor is from the oil-rich Ilaje local government area of the State.
