The Lagos State 2024 budget as presented by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to the state house of assembly is more than the 2024 budget of States in the north-east and north-central.
Lagos presented the highest with N2.25 trillion while the budgets of State governments in the north-east made up of Adawama, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe totalled N1.605 trillion.
Also, the States in the north-central made up of Benue, Kogi, Plateau, Nasarawa, Kwara and Niger totalled N1.097 trillion.
Three States including Akwa-Ibom, Rivers and Delta followed Lagos to top the list of big budget proposals for the 2024 fiscal year.
Akwa Ibom presented N845.63 billion followed by Rivers with N800 and Delta with N725 billion respectively.

As the year 2023 is coming to an end, state government across the thirty-six federation states have presented their 2024 budget proposals to their respective state houses of assembly for approval and passage.
Twenty-four (24) out of thirty-six (36) states have passed and signed their 2024 budgets into law.
Lagos budget alone dust that of north-eastern States and also that of north-central States.
States with the least budget are Ekiti State with N159.57 billion, Nasarawa State with N199.9 billion and Ebonyi State with N202.13 billion.
