BREAKING: Yinka Odumakin died of COVID-19 complications – Family Source

LAGOS – At the early hours on Saturday, the spokesperson of the Pan-Yoruba Sociocultural Group, Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital with COVID-19 complications.

According to the Sahara Reporters, the family source said the deceased has been at the intensive care unit of LASUTH in the last one week.

“I just spoke with Dr. Joe, his wife. She’s in a panic mode. She said a part of her is gone. Odumakin had been in the ICU of LASUTH for the past one week after being transfered from IDH Yaba,” a source said.

Mr. Odumakin was a right activist who was at the forefront of democratic advocacy and development in Nigeria right the days of NADECO.

He was married to Dr. Joe Odumakin who is an activist for women.
