Techpreneurship: Oludaisi Omokungbe launches a book to create consciousness among young people

The public presentation of the Book, titled: The Emerging Wave of Techpreneurship was on Friday 4th January 2019 presented by the author, Oludaisi Omokungbe in Akure. The event brought together top professionals in academics, media, banking, governance and business.

The Chairman of the event, Professor Francis Igbasan extolled the virtues of the author as a young man with a high-level determination to impact his generation. He described the new book as a working template for government policies on youth development, and business and also a tool for young people to enhance self-reliance.

In his speech, the author described the new book as an inspiration and in-depth research product aimed at raising the consciousness of academics, entrepreneurs, policy makers and indeed young people to harness the potentials of technology with entrepreneurship in order to defeat and escape poverty and unemployment majorly in Africa. He reiterated that with techpreneurship, Nigeria’s growth is eminent. The book is a tool to liberate ourselves from the deliberate and oppressive dominance of globalization that has made us to hugely depend on the western world and the government for our well-being. He made some mind-blowing predictions about what and how techpreneurship will influence human world in the next fifty years of innovation.

The immediate past Executive Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Professor Ayodele Ajayi who was the book reviewer explained that book was a notable intellectual work that is capable of redefining how we will do things and businesses in the next few years to come. He went to further to say – The closest to this book is the narrative of our renowned Tech-Business Giant and founder of Zenith Bank, Mr. Jim Ovia in his book titled Africa Rise and Shine: How a Nigerian Entrepreneur from Humble Beginnings Grew a Business to $16 Billion. Suffice to say that Mr. Omokungbe in this book attempts to show Africans how to rise and Government, what would make the rise and movement of Africans rapid and steady.

Olabanjo Ayenakin who was the Chief Host at the event described the author and his work as assets to Nigeria who should be encouraged and promoted beyond borders for greater delivery.

Other speakers at the event include Olusegun Ajimotokin who is the Chairman House Committee on Education, Science and Technology at the Ondo State House of Assembly described the author as a young man with a daring spirit to achieve great things to advance human existence during his lifetime.  His new book will be an asset to the government for policy making and programs for youth development.

Other dignitaries at the event include a member of House of Reps, Mike Omogbehin who was represented by Segun Odidi, former Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Malachi Coker, and Deputy Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Ogundeji Iroju, publisher of Hero Magazine, Sunday Akinbiola, CEO of YoungLead, Dotun Ojon, Pastor Sam Neye, and Joel Ogunsola among others.

The event also marked the 30th birthday of the author.
