Akure- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has reacted to the exit of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi from their party, said he has abused the privilege given to him by the party members during his short stay.
The party who through its State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Ikantu Peretei issued a press release to this effect, stated that the Deputy Governor’s resignation from the PDP will have no effect on the party’s prospects to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Mr. Peretei stated further that the party is yet to receive a resignation letter from the Deputy Governor. He wrote:
“The Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State has received the exit of Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi from the Party, from just online publications. As a party, we are have not received his letter of resignation but we wish him well in his political journey.
He has abused the welcome and privilege accorded him by our party supporters during his brief stay in the party. He also proved that he is desperate to become the Governor of Ondo State. In the days to come, it will dawn on him that, he has squandered whatever was remaining in his goodwill with this decision”. He said.
Mr. Peretei also said that the party remains strong and more determined than ever before to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
It would be recalled that Mr. Agboola Ajayi joined the Peoples Democratic Party on 22nd June 2020, after a misunderstanding with the Governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. He later participated at the Peoples Democratic Party’s Governorship Primaries having received waver from the National Secretariat of the Party.
