2021/22 Admissions: Achievers University approves tuition-free courses for prospective students in 12 courses

The governing council of Achievers University, Owo has approved free tuition scholarships for the fifteenth set of undergraduates for the first three academic sessions in twelves courses being run by the institution.

Owo – The governing council of Achievers University, Owo has approved free tuition scholarships for the fifteenth set of undergraduates for the first three academic sessions in twelve courses being run by the institution.

The vice-chancellor, Prof. Samuel Aje said in a statement obtained by TECHNOCRAT MEDIA.

He said the students would enjoy free tuition-free for three academic sessions in courses such as accounting, political science, industrial chemistry, business administration, plant science and biotechnology, biochemistry, economics, sociology, and geology.

Others include; public administration and human anatomy.

Prof. Aje said “Many private universities are struggling to survive in Nigeria which was why many did not believe in our scholarship program.

“We are convinced education is the key to development so we extend our corporate social responsibility to granting scholarships to students.”

Achievers University Owo was approved and licensed by the federal government of Nigeria in 2007. It commenced academic activities on April 2, 2008.

The university, which is situated in a serene and conducive environment, has matriculated 14 sets of students and graduated 10 sets of ‘Achievers’ who are making their marks in all spheres of human endeavors.

Achievers University is fully residential, offering security-conscious accommodation for all students on campus, with a full complement of facilities for comfort and learning.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to the 15th set of undergraduate programmes.

General requirements for admission

UTME Candidates are required to have sat for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination with a minimum score as approved by JAMB.

Applicants must also obtain a minimum of five credit passes at not more than two sittings in WACE (SSCE)/NECO (SSCE) or NABTEB which should include English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects relevant to the proposed course of study.

DIRECT ENTRY candidates into 200 levels must possess WACE (SSCE)/NECO (SSCE) or NABTEB, but with two passes at either A-Level, IJMB, or JUPEB examinations. Holders of ND, NCE, or ATS results in relevant disciplines are also eligible for admission. Candidates are also expected to have purchased the Direct Entry form of JAMB for the 2021/22 academic session.

Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) candidates shall, in addition to the possession of WACE (SSCE)/NECO (SSCE) or NABTEB, hold at least two A-Level passes in Biology/Zoology and any one of Chemistry or Physics or the Registered Nursing Certificate (RN) of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria; or a B.Sc degree (with at least Second Class Lower) in any of the Biological Sciences.

Candidates applying for any of the Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) programmes shall, in addition to the possession of WACE (SSCE)/NECO (SSCE) or NABTEB hold at least two A-Level passes, including Mathematics and Physics; or National Diploma (Upper Credit) in Engineering.

LL.B candidates shall, in addition to the possession of WACE (SSCE)/NECO (SSCE) or NABTEB, have obtained two papers at Principal or Advanced Level in HSC, GCE, IJMB, or JUPEB; or an acceptable bachelor’s degree. A minimum credit pass in Literature in English is mandatory for all intending candidates.

DIRECT ENTRY Candidates into 300Level should be holders of HND in their respective fields of study. HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics is acceptable for B.Sc. Computer Science, HND in Computer Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering is acceptable for B.Eng. Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering.

Holders of professional certificates such as ACA, ACIB, ACIS, ACIN, and ACIT are also eligible for admission into 300Levvel.

How to apply

Candidates who have chosen or did not choose the university in the JAMB UTME and direct entry forms can process admissions by visiting the university website; creating an account and login to fill out the form or obtaining the forms at the campus or any of the screening centres nearest to candidates.

Candidates who have chosen the university for the JAMB UTME application are to pay a screening fee of N2,000 while those who did not would pay N10,000 application fee.
