Anambra governor-elect Charles Soludo has appointed Nigeria’s former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili as the head of a transition team ahead of his takeover from the incumbent governor Willie Obiano.
Mr Soludo, an ex-CBN governor and candidate of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was declared winner of the November 6 2021 governorship election in Anambra, after defeating his closest rivals, Valentine Ozigbo of the PDP and Andy Uba of the APC had 43,285 votes.
According to Peoples Gazette, Mr Soludo is to expected be sworn in as the Anambra state governor in March has appointed transition members, with Mrs Ezekwesili being the head.
The inauguration of the transition team will hold on January 20, at Agulu Lake (Golden Tulip) Hotel in Anambra, according to sources, Peoples Gazette said.
With other members of the team who are still unknown, Mr Ezekwesili will lead the team to develop a transition plan, ensure its implementation to ensure a smooth and successful takeover of the governor-elect, Mr Soludo’s administration.
Mrs Ezekwesili, popularly called “Madam Due-Process”, a former presidential candidate in the 2019 general election is known for working in the social and development sectors and as a former vice president of the World Bank.
