Achievers University holds 15th matriculation, admit 614 fresh students

Achievers University, Owo has matriculated 614 fresh students at its 15th matriculation ceremony held at the university’s main campus on Friday.

Achievers University, Owo has matriculated 614 fresh students at its 15th matriculation ceremony held at the university’s main campus on Friday.

Dr Bode Ayorinde, pro-chancellor of the university congratulated the new students, also thanked their parents for making Achievers University their choice institution of higher learning.

He tasked the matriculants to concentrate on their studies, noting that their achievement is dependent on their choice of hard work.

Dr Ayorinde told the matriculants to report any form of intimidation within the campus to the appropriate authorities.

He stressed that the university frowns at indiscipline.

Prince Dapo Adenekan who graced the ceremony as the special guest of honor challenged the new students on entrepreneurship and also to ensure that the university passes through them in the course of their studies.

Achievers university vice-chancellor, Prof. Samuel Aje said the institution is marking its 15th matriculation ceremony which he described as a thing of joy to be celebrated positively.

Prof Aje appealed to the new students to imbibe the habit of reading always, and study efficiently for them to achieve great feats in their academics.

The matriculation guest speaker, Mr Wisdom Otaru spoke on a presentation titled: “My Dream”.

Mr Oniwon who is an alumnus of the university highlighted “dream, focus, passion, humility, healthy living, setting the standard” as the necessary requirements to get to the top.

The ceremony had in attendance the principal officials of the university, pro-chancellor Dr Bode Ayorinde; vice-chancellor Prof. Samuel Aje, the registrar, Rev. Canon Oladimeji; the acting Bursar Mr Olagoke Akanwo, and the acting university librarian, Mrs D. C Ogbuiyi as well as other dignitaries and parents of the new students.
