The scholarship is sponsored annually by the UK government’s international scholarship programme aimed at developing global leaders around the world.
Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCO) and partner organisations, the scholarship offers financial support for individuals to study for a master’s degree at any UK university.
The scholarship covers tuition fees, travel and a monthly stipend as well as other packages for emerging young leaders who are accepted into the programme.
Chevening started in 1983 having over 50,000 professionals across the globe as beneficiaries.
In Nigeria, Chevening Scholars are more than 1,400 professionals who had benefited from Chevening’s scholarships and fellowships.
