Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), says the ticket of the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice president-elect didn’t meet constitutional requirements, saying they can’t be inaugurated on May 29.
According to Ahmed, their ticket was unconstitutional and any attempt to swear in the duo as president and vice president is about ending the country’s democracy.
He spoke on ‘Politics Today’, a Channels TV’s daily programme on Wednesday.
“Swearing a ticket that has not met the constitutional requirements of the constitution is ending democracy.
“You cannot swear in people who have not met the constitutional requirements. You can’t do that.
“If you do it, you have done something unlawful and something unconstitutional”, he said.
He urged President Buhari and justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) not to participate in the swearing-in of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29.
