Driver missing, 4 others rescued in Abuja Trademore estate floods—NEMA

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), says one man has drowned and is still missing at the Trademore estate flooding in Abuja.

Tweets from the agency indicated that four others have been rescued and were said to be in stable condition.

“Flood situation report from search and rescue activity at Imo Street, Trademore Estate Lugbe Abuja. A Peugeot 406 driver with registration no. YLA 681 FS drowned in the flood and still missing, 4 persons were rescued and in stable condition”, NEMA tweeted.

NEMA said other rescue agencies have arrived at the scene.

“Stakeholders responding to the flood are NEMA, Fire Service, FCT FEMA, Red Cross and the Flood department of the Federal Ministry of Environment respectively”.

The floods in the area followed a rainfall in the nation’s capital on Friday morning.

In September 2021, floods in the area killed 4 persons and destroyed many properties.
