Jimoh Ibrahim, senator representing Ondo south in the Senate, says each member of the red chamber received N2 million for their 49 days recess.

On Monday, the red chamber concluded the screening and confirmation exercise for ministerial nominees forwarded to it by President Bola Tinubu.

The senators adjourned the plenary to September 26 to proceed with their legislative recess.

On Tuesday, the president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, said money has been sent to senator’s various accounts to enjoy their holidays.

Reactions have followed the announcement made by Akpabio, following the fuel subsidy removal hardship that is facing Nigerians at the moment.

Reacting to the development, Ibrahim disclosed to TechnocratMedia that it is true that each senator received a sum of N2 million for the seven weeks recess.

“Yes, 2m was sent for 7 weeks holiday. If you need evidence, I can provide it for you,” he said.
