Olamide Oladiji, the speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly (ODHA), has taken the delivery of twenty-six new official cars for the members.
The vehicles, SUVs are for the twenty-six members of the 10th assembly inaugurated in June.
Oladunni Odu, secretary to the state government, presented the vehicles to the speaker and his deputy, Abayomi Akinruntan, in Akure on Monday on behalf of the state government.
Odu stated that the vehicles are procured to ease the legislative duties of members of the 10th assembly.
According to her, governor Akeredolu has consistently emphasised the importance of all stakeholders and state actors to collaborate and work and one for the overall development of the state.
She added that the Akeredolu remains committed to the well-being of every arm of government, and the people of the state at large.
Ade Adetimehin, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who witnessed the event, hailed the governor for procuring official vehicles for the lawmakers.
Reacting, Olamide Oladiji, expressed the gratitude of the lawmakers to the governor for the gesture.
He described it as a significant accomplishment, saying the vehicles would aid them in fulfilling their legislative responsibilities in the state.
