A Rivers State High Court sitting in Isiokpo in the Ikwerre Local Government Area has issued an interim order restraining the Rivers State House of Assembly from impeaching governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Presiding Judge, Justice Ben Whyte, issued the order on Wednesday following a suit filed by the governor.

The court directed all the parties involved to maintain the status quo, pending the determination of the Motion on Notice.

Justice Whyte adjourned the hearing of the suit to 14 November 2023.
