Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police, has ordered the redeployment of fourteen assistant inspectors-general of police and twenty-six commissioners of police.
According to the force’s public relations officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, the senior police officers have been posted to various commands and formations across the country to reflect their new status and ranks.
He listed the affected AIGs as follows:

Amongst the twenty-six CPs is Olatunji Disu who is newly appointed by IGP as the commissioner of police for Rivers State.
In the signal, the police boss charged the new CPs to demonstrate professional competence in the new offices they have been assigned to lead across the country.
Disu is replacing Nwonyi Emeka, CP in Rivers, less than two weeks after the governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara, accused some officers of attempting to kill him when he went to access the level damage done to the State House of Assembly following an explosion that greatly affected the hallowed chambers.
