Bosun Tijani, a minister-designate in the Tinubu administration, has announced that he has been appointed a visiting at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
“The committee approved your application as Visiting Adjunct Professor: Wits School of Governance, University of the Witwatersrand, with effect from 1 September 2023 for a period of 3 years until 31 August 2026,” the minister designate disclosed in a tweet on Friday.
A visiting professor is a tradition in the academic environment wher an individual is invited to teach at a college or university for a short period.
Tijani, a technology professional who holds a PhD in Innovation and Economic Development was named a ministerial nominee by President Bola Tinubu weeks ago.
The appearance of the CEO and co-founder of CcHub before the senate for screening as a minister last Saturday attracted a lot of reactions about his past comments on Nigeria and the President.
The senators grilled Bosun for hours on his past tweets which were deemed disparaging and contemptuous of the Nigerian state and passport, and the senate as an institution.
Tijani later apologise profusely to the senators for describing the members of the ninth Senate as “morons” in 2021.
