Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Bayelsa deputy governor has been appointed by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to lead the conduct of the governorship primary election in Ondo State.
The primary election, scheduled for Thursday, 25th April 2024 will be conducted by a 7-man primary election committee, headed by the deputy governor.
In a statement on Wednesday, Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, state publicity secretary, of the party said seven aspirants have been cleared by the Senator Sam Egwu screening committee to participate in the primary election.
According to him, the International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome) in Akure, the state capital is the venue for the primary election.
“A total of 627 Delegates from the 18 Local Government Areas of the State are expected to elect the standard bearer of the party for the November 16, 2024, Governorship election,” Peretei said.
“Accreditation of Delegates will commence at 10:00 am.
“All those who are not Delegates or have no business at the venue are advised to keep a reasonable distance from the arena.”
