Former minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika, his daughter, and two others have been granted N100 million bail each by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
They are being tried in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged fraud of ₦2.7bn.
The court ruled they are also to provide two sureties who must have landed properties in the nation’s capital, Abuja and added that the sureties must also be responsible citizens.
The sureties must depose to an affidavit of means.
According to the court, the defendants cannot travel abroad without its permission.
Channels TV reports that Justice Oriji also ordered that the defendants should be remanded in prison custody if they failed to meet their bail conditions.
The court noted that the trial will commence on the 10th, 11th and 20th of June, 2024.
