AKURE – The former Deputy Speaker, Iiroju Ogundeji has approached the court over the failure of the leadership of the house of assembly to pay his salary arrears.
It was recalled that Ogundeji was reinstated alongside other three lawmakers, Mr. Wale Williams, Mr. Tomide Akinribido and Mrs. Favor Tomomewo in December 2020.
According to a report by The Precision NG, said, the commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, Charles Titiloye was present in the court of contempt brought over by the reinstated lawmakers.
The court has granted a temporary order that the bank accounts of the speaker, Oleyelogun and the parliamentary secretary, Mr. Abayomi Akinruntan and the deputy majority leader, Mr. Olamide Oladiji should be frozen.
The former Deputy speaker Iroju Ogundeji got a garnishee order against the accounts for failure to pay his outstanding entitlements while he was on suspension even with the court order that said they should reestablish and pay all arrears.
Mr. Wale Williams said since they were reinstated in December, their salary arrears have not been paid even when the state government has approved it while speaking on the development on Crest FM in Akure, The Precision NG correspondent reported.
