Uproar in Ondo Assembly; Deputy Speaker, two others suspended

The deputy speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Ogundeji Iroju alongside two other members of the House, Mr. Adewale Williams of Ondo West II, and Ms. Favour Tomomewo of Ilaje II has been suspended by the leadership of the assembly today at their plenary sitting.

Both lawmakers were among the nine lawmakers that kicked against impeachment move against the deputy governor of the state, Mr. Agboola Ajayi who defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party.

They were suspended for alleged unruly behavior.

Suspension letter

Iroju, while speaking about his suspension on a live radio program vowed that his suspension would not stand as he was voted by the people and that he had not committed any crime punishable under the laws of Nigeria.
