Turn out for the local government election in Ondo state has bed. Impressive so far. ODIEC had earlier laid down guidelines which were in synchronization with the FG COVID 19 Guidelines.
All polling units were equipped with adequate sanitizers, polling agents made use of Face masks while voters observe social distancing.
As advised by ODIEC, voters were to leave the polling unit immediately they are done casting their votes.
In Akure South Local Government, is great. Restricted movement across the main roads was followed, while stores and major markets were closed.
Speaking to newsmen, Chairman Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, Yomi Odimakin said votings in the respective local governments were carried out without a hitch.
“So far so good, what we have observed is that voting is going on smoothly, the materials are here and the turnout is impressive.”
When asked if satisfied with the security situations. The Chairman said: “Yes, we are satisfied with the security arrangements, I have been in close contact with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies with respect to happenings in different locations”.
