Godswill Akpabio, president of the Senate has announces the names of the majority leader and others for the upper chamber.

The Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) reports that Akpabio announced the names on Tuesday during plenary. 

Opeyemi Bamidele was announced as Senate majority leader; David Umahi as deputy majority leader and Mohammed Ali Ndume as Senate majority whip.

He also announced Lola Ashiru as deputy majority whip.

In the same vein, the minority leadership positions for the Senate have also been announced.

They include Simon Mwadkon, Senate minority leader; Oyewumi Olalere, Senate deputy minority leader; Darlington Nwokocha, Senate minority whip and Rufai Hanga Senate, deputy minority whip.

The 1oth national assembly was inaugurated on June 13.
