Ibrahim Dosara, former commissioner for information in Zamfara state, says the administration of Bello Matawalle did their best for the state.
Dosara spoke on Sunday on Arise TV morning show reacting to the claim made by the current commissioner for economic planning and budget, Abdulmalik Gajam.
Gajam had blamed the administration of Matawalle for Zamfara’s economic challenges, particularly the ranking of the state as the 32nd out of 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in economic output.
Reacting to the development, Dosara said Matawalle’s administration did its best while in office.
“We have done our best in the areas of education, health, and human development,” he said
“We presented our case and that case is nothing but the truth that we have presented. So, you cannot simply come and say all the problems—all the backwardness of education, all the backwardness in transportation and all the backwardness in economic development happened specifically during Matawalle’s administration.”
Dosara said nobody can take what has happened over long a period of years and dedicate it to Matawalle’s administration.
He said approaching economic indices that way is defective and wrong.
He also accused Gajam of not understanding how to interpret economic indices because he didn’t study economics.
