Abuja, Nigeria
The Parliamentary Parliamentary Staff Association Of Nigeria (PASAN) has shut down the gates to the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
A development in compliance with the directive of organised labour to join the ongoing industrial action in the country.
Recall that on Monday, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) directed all affiliates and state councils of workers unions to comply with the nationwide strike.
Last week, DailyAgent reported that the organised labour is protesting the battering of the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, and some other executives of the congress in Owerri, Imo State, on November 1, as well as the pending labour issues in Imo State.
Observation by DailyAgent as of midday on Tuesday, all the entry gates into the National Assembly complex were under lock and key.
Many workers who left their homes to resume work were seen stranded at the entrance of the complex.
DailyAgent learnt that despite the locking of the gates, the members of the House of Representatives are observing their plenary.
