BREAKING: Court bars Bayero, four others from parading themselves as Emirs in Kano

A Kano State High Court on Monday granted an order stopping Aminu Ado Bayeroto from parading himself as the Emir of Kano.

Daily Trust reports that Justice Amina Aliy who presided over the case also held that four other deposed Emirs should stop parading themselves as Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Karaye and Gaya.

Justice Aliy ordered the five deposed emirs to return all moveable and immovable properties belonging to the Kano state government.

On July 4, the judge adjourned the matter to rule on an application for an extension of time, notice of preliminary objection, joinder application and application for the judge to recuse herself, to July 18.

In May, recall that DailyAgent reported that the Kano State Government had sacked the Emirs of Kano and five others in Bichi, Rano, Karaye and Gaya following the passage of the Kano Emirates Council law (repeal bill) 2024 after scaling 3rd reading.
