President Bola Tinubu is expected to depart Abuja for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to the country.

The president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Tuesday, said the trip is at the behest of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

Ngalale disclosed that President Tinubu will meet with Mbasogo at the presidential villa on arrival, adding that part of the discussions between the two countries will include agreements on oil and gas and security.

The statement reads: “The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other members of his cabinet who will be involved in the signing of agreements and review of opportunities to improve bilateral relations.

This trip will be one of the international trips the president has embarked on to strengthen economic, political and security ties with other countries.

Recall that in April, the president visited The Netherlands at the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Tinubu engaged in high-level discussions with the prime minister and held separate meetings with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Kingdom.
