Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara was seen in public for the first time since his suspension from office. 

He was seen on Sunday at the Salvation Ministries headquarters in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

In the words of Governor Fubara’s chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara was joined by senior politicians, key stakeholders, state elders, leaders, and allies to express thanks to God for His mercy, love, and continued presence despite the challenges of the political moment.

“A special prayer session was held in favour of the Governor shortly after the service,” the statement went on.

Fubara was accompanied by Edison Ehie, his chief of staff; John Azuta-Mbata, president-general, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; Sam Jaja, former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Orits Onyiri; Mike Elechi; and David Briggs.
