Turn out for the local government election in Ondo state has being impressive so far. ODIEC had earlier laid down guidelines which is in synchronisation with the FG Covid 19 Guidelines.
All polling units were equipped with adequate sanitizers, polling agents made use of Face masks while voters observe social distancing.
As advised by ODIEC, voters were to leave the polling unit immediately they are done casting their votes.
In Akure South Local Government, is great. Restricted movement across the main roads was followed, while stores and major markets are closed.
Speaking to journalists, Chairman Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, Yomi Odimakin said voting is going unhitched.
“So far so good, what we have observed is that voting is going on smoothly, the materials are here and the turn out is impressive.”
When asked if satisfied with the security situations. The Chairman said:
“Yes, we are satisfied with the security arrangements, I have been in close Contact with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies with respect to happenings in different locations”
