The newly elected chairmen in the eighteen local governments in Ondo State have been urged to use their position as chairmen in their respective local governments to ensure the re-election of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
This call was made by in a statement issued by the convener of IBI GIGA AMBASSADORS, Mr. Alex Ajipe through his Media aide, Mr. Solomon Adewoye, in Akure.
He also urged the new chairmen and councilors to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people in their respective local governments.
The statement read: “On behalf of myself and entire Ibi Giga Ambassadors, I wish to congratulate all our newly elected chairmen and councilors in the just concluded local government election.
“This is indeed another promise fulfilled by our amiable governor for allowing the state independent electoral commission to conduct a credible election without interfering.
“However, your election should be seen as a call to service and to deliver the dividend of democracy to our people.
“I want to remind you that this election is just to test our popularity as we move close to the main election come October 10th. I want you all to work and build on the achievement recorded so far by our dear Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,” Mr. Ajipe said.
He also lauded the state Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) for conducting a peaceful, credible and fair election at the local level. He, therefore, urged the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to do the same in the forthcoming gubernatorial poll.
