Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a presidential hopeful of the All Presidential Congress (APC) has donated N75m to the victims of the Owo attack on St Francis Catholic Church.
According to reports, over 100 persons were killed while many others were injured in the attack carried out by unknown gunmen in Owo on Sunday during a holy mass.
Mr Tinubu issued a statement on Sunday condemning the attack.
“I strongly condemn the evil and brutal attack that took place at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa, Ondo State, this morning. I pray for healing and comfort for the injured and the bereaved.”
“My thoughts and prayers are with H.E. Governor Akeredolu, the government, and the people of Ondo State. May God bless us all.”
The former Lagos State Governor arrived in Owo on Monday and visited the Palace of Olowo, Oba Ajigbade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, to sympathize with the people and the government of Ondo State.
Mr Tinubu was accompanied by the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu who announced the donation on his behalf.
“My leader has come to sympathise with our people. He is donating N50m to take care of the victims of the incident.
“And an additional donation of N25m will go to the Catholic Church,” the governor said.
