Mr. Elegbeleye Rasheed Olalekan born in Ikare-Akoko on May 16th, 1966, the Minority Leader, representing the people of Akoko North-East State Constituency. He is the only lawmaker on the platform of People’s Democratic Party in the current Ondo State House of Assembly.
HIS EARLY LIFE
Mr. Elegbeleye Rasheed Olalekan born in Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North-East local government area of Ondo State on May 16th, 1966.
HIS EDUCATION
He attended A.U.D Primary School and Saint Jude Primary School, both in Ikare-Akoko and got his first school leaving certificate in 1979. He proceeded to Ikare Grammar School, Ikare and obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate in 1984. In 988, he graduated from the Cooperative Training Institute, Akure where he obtained a Diploma in Secretariat Study. Currently, Mr. Elegbeleye is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in political science at the National Open University, Akure Study Center, where is he expected to graduate before the end of the year.
POLITICAL EXPERIENCE
Olalekan has served at different levels both in his political party and the government which include:
- Social Democratic Party Ward Organizing Secretary
- Local Government UNCP Organizing Secretary
- PDP local government youth leader, Akoko North East
- PDP State youth leader, Ondo State
- Councilor for Edo Ward 1995-1997
- Ondo State Independent Electoral Officer, 2007-2009
- Currently, member and the minority leader, Ondo State House of Assembly
